Dr Angeli is a Consultant Neurologist and Movement Disorder Specialist at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. She is the Principal Investigator and Leads the Movement Disorder Service at Lewisham Hospital. She is part of King’s College Centre of Excellence in Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Hospital and member of Movement Disorders Society.
Dr Angeli pursued her interest in Movement Disorder early in her career. In 2010 and 2011 she was awarded grands and completed a two years Clinical Fellowship at National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (Queen Square) where she received cutting edge training in Movement Disorders and participated in research. She specialises in advanced treatments for Parkinson’s disease and Movement Disorders including APO- go, Apomorphine pump, Duodopa pump, Deep Brain Stimulation and Botox treatments. She has wide clinical and research activity and she has effectively led Movement Disorders Clinic in her NHS posts.
She has obtained MSc in Health Care Management with her Thesis reviewing the quality of life of patients with advanced Parkinson’s Disease on medications and those who have had advanced treatment and operation or Deep Brain Stimulation.
She has been actively involved in research for Parkinson’s disease participating in several studies such as PRoBaND, DENDRON, NILS; and has published highly cited research.
She additionally has wide experience on managing Headaches and Stroke. During her higher specialist training she received specialist training for Stroke management. She has also completed a six months fellowship in advanced treatments for retractable migraines at National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (Queen Square). She is part of the Multidisciplinary Stroke Team of Lewisham Hospital and has a special interest on Stroke mimics. She is highly competent on offering Botox for spasticity and retractable migraines management.
