Dr Nikolay Dimitrov – Consultant Neurologist in London

Dr Nikolay Dimitrov is a Consultant Neurologist working for Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust in London. He has special interest in Movement Disorders including Parkinson’s Disease and Parkinsonian Syndromes, Tremors, Dystonia, Restless legs syndrome and related disorders.

He works closely with Prof Chaudhuri and is part of the team of King’s College Hospital Centre of Excellence in Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders and member of Movement Disorders Society. 

Dr Dimitrov is leading a multidisciplinary team at Lewisham Hospital managing patients with movement disorders and Parkinson’s disease.

He is a specialist in advanced treatments for Parkinson’s disease and Movement Disorders including Apomorphine injections, Apomorphine pump and Deep Brain Stimulation. He is experienced in management of patients with craniofacial and cervical dystonia, spasticity and chronic migraines using Botulinum toxin injections.

Dr Dimitrov is actively involved in a research studies including Glymphatic study, OPTIPAC study, NILS study, MDS NMS Scale, PD Pain Scale/Quest validation, Panda study, PKG study, TOLEDO, Ethnicity study, PRoBaND Study, BRC Biobank and Dementias & Neurodegenerative Diseases Research Network.

Dr Dimitrov had been actively involved in research for Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neuron Disease at Kings College Hospital London since 2010. Previously he had worked on research projects for University Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany in 2005 and for the Department of Neurology at New York University School of Medicine in 2005 – 2006.

Currently he is mostly involved in management of patients with movement disorders and headaches at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust and Kings College Hospital.
