Access Care & Guidance From Specialist Paediatric Neurologists
Dementech Neurosciences has been helping young patients with a range of neurological disorders since 2016. Our paediatric teams have years of experience working with children and young people to help understand and manage their disorders, and are also leading clinicians and academicians in their parent NHS organisations.
We can also offer a second specialist opinion even if the primary clinical consultation and investigations have occurred in another centre anywhere in the world. This can be facilitated both in person and remotely, using secure web-based technologies.
At Dementech, we pride ourselves in being able to provide a dedicated, professional service for the care of children without the need for formal hospital booking processes. This model of care in the private sector is unique for the city of London. With access to state-of-the-art MRI / CT scanners and world-class labs, there’s no question that we have the facilities to provide the highest standard of care.
Specialising in Autism Spectrum Disorder:
Signs, Symptoms & Treatment
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder that commonly involves problems with communication and social interactions. ASD is the umbrella term that covers classic autism, Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD) and Asperger’s Syndrome.
Forms of ASD can range from mild to moderate to severe, meaning no two children with ASD display exactly the same symptoms or engage in the same behaviours. ASD is therefore referred to as a spectrum.
ASD is a lifelong disorder without a cure, but early diagnosis, therapy interventions and support can help children with ASD to reach their full potential.

MRI Scans: Dementech Neurosciences
What is an MRI scan?

An MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) machine uses a powerful magnet and radio waves to take very clear and detailed pictures of the body.
It is useful for analysing different parts of the body (including organs), and providing information that X-rays, ultrasounds and CT scans can not.
During an MRI scan, images of the body part will be taken from several different angles. The magnetic field used in MRI is believed to be safe even for unborn babies. There is no ionising radiation (found in X-rays) used in MRI.
Why a Child May Need an MRI?

Your child may need a MRI for a number of different reasons:
- To look at the shape/structure of different parts of their body
- To check for any signs of disease
- To help to plan follow-up treatment after a procedure
- To help with planning before an operation
- For early detection, treatment, and management of diseases
