Sleep

At IPDiagnostics we offer a wide range of both conventional and complex portable sleep services to help aid in the diagnosis of a wide spectrum of sleep disorders.

EEG

We also have expertise in EEG testing procedures for the characterisation of brain function.

Sleep

Respiratory Polygraphy.

This device is used to record respiratory parameters over the course of the night and is used as a diagnostic investigation into sleep disordered breathing (SDB) such as sleep apnoea.

Video Polysomnography (PSG)

Our Video PSG is a comprehensive sleep study that is used to help formulate a diagnosis of a wide range of sleep disorders.

Full Neurological Montage Polysomnography (FNM - PSG).

The NFM - PSG incorporates all the same parameters as the video - PSG however with a full montage EEG, which is used to evaluate epileptiform activity. This test usually lasts between 24 - 48 hours.

CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure).

CPAP is used as the gold standard treatment for moderate - severe obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA). It is a machine that is connected to a tube and a face mask which blows pressurised air into the upper airways preventing repeated collapse over the course of the night.

Transcutaneous C02 monitoring.

This is a device is used as a non-invasive measurement of Sa02 (how saturated the blood is with oxygen) and TnC02 (how saturated the blood is with carbon dioxide).

EEG

Electroencephalography (EEG) Routine.

The EEG is carried out over a period of 20 minutes (that time excludes set up time). The technique involves the painless attachment of probes onto the head. These probes record the EEG signal onto specialised equipment and are analysed by our team of expert physiologists.

Electroencephalography (EEG) Extended recording protocol.

The extended EED is the same as the attended routine EEG but is recorded over a longer period of time, 4-6 hours. The technique involves the painless attachment of probes onto the head. These probes record the EEG signal onto specialised equipment and are analysed by our team or expert physiologists

Ambulatory Overnight EEG.

The Ambulatory Overnight EEG is similar to the extended EGG, however the probes that are attached to the head are securely fixed and recording will continue through the night.

Home Video Telemetry (VT).

This test is similar to the Ambulatory Overnight EEG with the probes being attached more securely. This study is also recorded with a video over a period of 24 - 72 hours.

Hospital Services.

We acknowledge that many smaller hospitals do not have access to EEG testing facilities. We can provide intensive care and ward based attended bedside EEG testing with rapid physiologists report turn around. Consultant finalised EEG reports can be provided on request.
