Dr N.A.Asanka Karunatilake – Consultant Psychiatrist
Dr Karunatilake is a consultant in Old Age Psychiatry currently working at the Greenwich Memory Clinic and community mental health team for Older Adults, Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr Karunatilake completed his undergraduate studies in medicine, receiving his MBBS at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. He did speciality training in psychiatry at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and achieved Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych). He is also interested in genomic medicine and completed a master’s degree at the University of Cambridge (awaiting graduation). Dr Karunatilake contributes to publications in his field, demonstrating his involvement in non-clinical academic work.
Dr. Karunatilake’s main focus is dementia assessments. He has wide experience in diagnosing and managing dementia, especially complex cases, after seeing many patients during his memory clinic.
He is also passionate and has excellent knowledge in helping his patients reduce the risk of complications of dementia in post-diagnostic cases and providing necessary advice for his patients and families who are specifically at risk of developing dementia.
Dr Karunatilake is a registered medical practitioner with the General Medical Council.
