Dr. Teresa Castiello is a multi-award-winning Consultant Cardiologist, entrepreneur, and digital health innovator with 25 years of international experience across the UK, Italy, and developing countries. As the Founder and CEO of MIAL Healthcare, she is dedicated to developing digitally integrated care models that prioritize prevention and early diagnosis.

Her clinical expertise is both broad and highly specialized, with a primary focus on:

• Heart Failure & Cardiomyopathy: Expert management of complex inherited and acquired conditions and rare cardiac disease. This includes specialized care for inflammatory cardiomyopathies, such as myocarditis and pericarditis.
• Advanced Cardiac Imaging: Internationally certified in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR) with Level 3 ESC/SCMR accreditation, having reported over 7,000 studies.
• Preventive Cardiology: Dedicated to cardiovascular prevention, including the management of hypertension, dyslipidaemia, and lifestyle management. She specialized in family screening and risk assessment for Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD).

Dr. Castiello holds prominent leadership roles in international cardiology societies, including the CardioGenomic Council of the ESC and the Inflammatory Cardiomyopathy Committee of the European Heart Failure Association (HFA). She is an Executive Board Member of the ESC Working Group on Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases and the immediate Past President of the Cardiology Section at the Royal Society of Medicine.

Author or Co-author  of ESC consensus papers, she serves as a Principal and Chief Investigator for numerous clinical trials. She currently holds the role of National Coordinating Investigator for the UK Ventyx pericarditis trial. Beyond the clinic, she is a passionate science communicator frequently featured on television and radio, advocating for patient education and women in healthcare.
